Client terms
The plain-English terms for a Signwrite website. You agree to these when you send your details on the start page.
1. Who we are
Signwrite is run by Charlie, an electrician based near Enfield, Co. Meath. Contact: info@signwrite.ie · 083 135 4982. "You" means the business named on the order form.
2. What you get
- A website built from the details, photos and reviews you send, usually live within 7 days of us having everything needed.
- Hosting, HTTPS (the padlock) and small changes when you need them. A change means things like swapping text or photos, updating prices, adding a review or a service. New pages or new features are quoted first.
- Your domain (e.g. yourbusiness.ie) is registered in your name. Its yearly renewal is included in your plan while the plan is active.
3. Prices and paying
- Setup €400: €100 to start, €300 when the site goes live.
- Plan: €30 a month, or €300 a year (two months free), paid in advance.
- Extras: Google Business Profile set up or fixed €129; 100 review QR cards and a van sticker €79; online booking €150.
- Payments are taken securely by card through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Refer a trade: you get one month of your plan free for each tradesperson you refer who signs up.
- An itemised invoice is available for any payment on request.
- If a payment is more than 14 days late after a reminder, we may pause the site until it's paid.
4. Starting, cancelling and leaving
- If we can't build your site, your €100 is refunded.
- If we don't get your content within 60 days of ordering, the €100 covers the work done and the order closes. You can restart any time.
- Monthly plan: cancel with 30 days' notice.
- Yearly plan: renews each year, and we remind you 3 months before it does. You can switch to monthly or cancel at renewal; the current year isn't refunded.
- Once the site is live, the setup fee isn't refundable.
- If you stop paying or cancel before 12 months: the site goes offline, you keep your domain and content, and you can take the site files for €200.
- We can end the service with 30 days' notice. If we do, you get the site files free and help moving.
5. Who owns what
- After 12 months of payments, the whole site is yours. If you ever leave, we give you the files and help you move it.
- Your domain, photos, words, logo and reviews are always yours, from day one.
- Before 12 months, the design and code stay Signwrite's while you're on a plan, or you can take them for a one-off €200.
6. What you're responsible for
The photos, logos and text you send are yours to use. Reviews are from real customers. Anything you claim (insurance, registrations, qualifications, years in business) is true.
7. Small credit
Your site has a small "Website by Signwrite" link at the bottom. It's removed when you take the site with you.
8. Your customers' details (data protection)
Your site's forms collect enquiries from your customers. You control that data; Signwrite handles it only on your behalf to run your site (a "processor" under GDPR). We:
- only use it to run your site, as you instruct, and never sell it or use it for our own marketing;
- keep it confidential and take reasonable security measures;
- share it only with these service providers, which help run your site: Cloudflare (hosting and forms, USA; transfers covered by Cloudflare's data processing addendum under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework / standard contractual clauses) GoatCounter (visitor counting; servers in Finland and Germany), Google Fonts (the website's fonts) and the email provider for the inbox your enquiries go to. We'll tell you before adding a new one, and you can object;
- help you if a customer asks to see or delete their data;
- tell you without delay if we find a problem affecting your customers' data;
- give you the information you need to check we're doing this properly;
- delete or return any enquiry data we hold for you when you leave.
Visitor counting for your monthly report uses GoatCounter, which doesn't store anything in your visitors' browsers (no cookies or similar).
9. Fair limits
- We take reasonable care to keep your site running, but can't promise it will never go down, or guarantee a Google ranking or a number of enquiries.
- If something goes wrong on our side, the most we're liable for is what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
10. Changes to these terms
We give you 30 days' notice by email. On the yearly plan, changes apply from your next renewal, and you can leave at that point with no charge.
11. Law
These terms are under Irish law.
