How much does a website cost for a tradesperson in Ireland?
By Charlie, electrician and founder of Signwrite · November 2026
You can pay anything from nothing to several thousand euro for a website. Here's what the main options roughly cost in Ireland, and what to check before you pay anyone. Prices vary, so treat these as a rough guide.
Do it yourself
Website builders like Wix or Squarespace cost roughly €17 to €40 a month for a plan that lets you use your own domain. The catch is your time: expect several evenings to set it up, and it's on you to make it look professional and show up on Google.
A web agency
A custom site from a web agency often costs anything from about €1,500 to €6,000, plus hosting and a charge for changes. You get more design freedom, but check who owns the site and what a small change costs.
A trade specialist
Some website companies, like Signwrite, only make trade websites from a proven template. That keeps the price down: Signwrite is €400 to set up, then €30 a month or €300 a year, with hosting and changes included.
Hidden costs to ask about
- The domain. A .ie domain is usually about €20 to €50 a year. Make sure it's registered in your name.
- Hosting. Is it included, and what happens if you stop paying?
- Changes. Is updating your phone number or adding photos included, or billed by the hour?
- Ownership. Can you take the site with you if you leave?
- Contracts. Is there a minimum term?
What matters more than price
A cheap site that nobody finds is money wasted. Whatever you choose, make sure it works well on phones, loads quickly, has a tap-to-call button and a quote form, and is set up properly for Google. Pair it with a free Google Business Profile and you'll get far more from it.
